PIMphony for Alcatel OmniPCX Office is a Personal Communication Manager that links the two most widely used business tools, desktop computers and telephones, to provide a powerful, user-friendly phone assistant that manages daily phone tasks.

With PIMphony Central Services you can receive details of missed calls even when your PC is turned off! The next time you log on the details of any missed calls will be delivered to your screen. You can simply double-click a missed call to dial them back.

The main advantage of PIMphony’s 3rd party architecture is that there is no physical connection between your telephone and your PC. PIMphony will link with any kind of telephone (Digital, IP Touch, DECT, analogue) or can even function without a telephone at all using PIMphony IP

These solutions offer seamless integration with a variety of Contact Managers, such as Microsoft Outlook, ACT!, Goldmine and Access. They can be configured for dialling directly from a contact card and for screen - ’popping’ a contact card on incoming calls. PIMphony Pro and Team can also access an LDAP directory on the LAN to perform dial-by-name functions.

  • You can provide a personalised welcome to each and every customer as well as have all their details to hand before you even answer the call, thus saving time and avoiding the customer having to provide their details every time they call. Dialling off - screen will also speed up the outgoing call process - increasing productivity for your company.

The Team option within Alcatel PIMphony helps operators manage call flow. The Supervision window shows the status of each user within the company (i.e. on the phone, diverted to voice mail, etc.) whilst the Assistant window displays up to 16 incoming calls with waiting time alarms.

  • This feature lets you take control of your company’s calls. It improves incoming call flow and ensures that your customers are not inconvenienced by waiting too long to be answered. It also helps improve the productivity of the operator meaning that they can handle more incoming calls, which should generate more business!

Associated with the supervision feature, the assistant window optimises your call reception. One-step transfer is possible with supervised people, preferred correspondents of the caller; an alarm can be set on calls waiting.

PIMphony makes teamwork easier with the new supervision window, allowing you to define workgroups or services in the company (get a call or forward status of each person in the workgroup).

  • The CSTA protocol: CSTA is an ECMA standard (European Computer Manufacturers Association), which represents a wide industry support and is the basis for switch openness;
  • The TAPI interface: Microsoft TAPI is an interface running on Windows systems.

In addition to the standard 3rd party CTI architecture with an external CTI server, OmniPCX Office supports PIMphony users as well as other CTI clients. OmniPCX Office is also able to interact with an external CTI server such as Microsoft’s TAPI server or any CSTA based CTI server.

  • The embedded server drastically reduces the cost of bringing CTI features into the company, meaning that more businesses can incorporate computer - based telephony into their working day, and improve the service to their customers accordingly.
